In May 2022, I graduated with my Doctor of Ministry Degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was a wonderful academic journey that helped me think more deeply about conducting moral leadership training and helping others develop their own programs of moral leadership training. My dissertation was written with theologically conservative evangelical chaplains in mind, but I believe the tools are beneficial to anyone interested in leading high quality moral leadership training in the Army.
Abstract: The purpose of this project was based on the premise that chaplains need additional tools to adequately conduct moral leadership training as stipulated in Army doctrine. The project involved the development and testing of the Ethical Assessment Survey and Values as Virtue framework based on Aristotle’s golden mean. The project objectives included validating and testing the survey and framework through gathering a set of sample data from chaplains and other Army leaders.
